It’s almost 2010, and for football fans around the world that means only one thing – the World Cup. Like the Olympic Games it only comes around once every four years, so it has to be made the most of.
This might not be the most exciting part of the World Cup story – watching the official match ball being produced – but it is actually very interesting. For some strange reason.

2009 has been a big one for celebrity deaths, and it’s ending on a particularly sour note with two dying well before their time. Brittany Murphy died at 32 a couple of weeks ago, and now Jimmy Sullivan has died at just 28.

According to one US soldier in this video, about 3/4 of the Afghan Army uses hashish (aka marijuana). Here you can see how frustrating it really is to lead a group of troops that don’t want to fight in the first place.
Even an Afghan troop leader expresses his disdain, “You can’t really call it an army at all…they’ve recruited the wrong kind of men…I don’t get along with them and they don’t get along with me.”

It’s easy to forget that it was only fifty years or so ago that humanity lived under the cloud of nuclear annihilation happening at any given moment. Sure, it could still happen now, but the old superpowers have at least cooled off.
