London To Brighton Through The Ages Video | Classic Train Trip Through The Decades

27 sec read

The London to Brighton train journey is regarded as a classic route. It takes about an hour to travel the line between the British capital and the resort on the south coast.

However, back in 1953 the BBC filmed the journey from the front of the train and then sped the whole thing up. It did so again in 1983, and now again in 2013.

This video is the result, and it shows the footage from each of the three journeys side by side. So we get to see how the line and the scenery has changed over the course of 60 years.

What I find amazing is how little has actually changed. Sure, the technology and infrastructure has altered, but most things have remained the same through the decades.
