Straight covers of pop songs can be extremely dull. They try and match the original note-for-note, which is a pointless exercise that, with the exception of tribute acts, leaves everyone listening disappointed.

This is mainly a triumph of editing, because each element is played individually and then edited all together to form the whole song. but even just creating the different parts must have taken a lot of work.
