Humans now inhabit all four corners of the world. And, as species go, we’re rather successful. Perhaps too successful.
This video shows the growth of the human population from the humble beginnings of our species. It also shows how humans spread around the globe, constantly migrating to new lands.
It’s a truly fascinating video for two reasons.
First, it shows just how much the human population has grown in recent years. It took 200,000 years to grow from 0 to 1 billion, but then just 200 years to grow from 1 billion to 7 billion.
Secondly, it shows just how normal a part of life migration is. Without people moving around, humans would not be the dominant species on Earth.
