The Rio 2016 Paralympics, the parallel Olympics for athletes with disabilities, are due to take place between September 7th and September 18th.
This video is Channel 4’s trailer for the Paralympics, and it shows some of the incredible athletes who are competing, as well as other disabled people who are achieving great things.
These are people who do everything an able-bodied person can, but better. They’re excelling at life, being the best at what they do, whether or not any sports are involved.
It’s just a shame the Rio 2016 Paralympics seems to have been devalued, with funding being cut, and the whole thing at risk of collapsing. These athletes deserve their moment in the sun.
