After months of speculation that it was working on a streaming media set-top box, Amazon has announced and immediately launched the Fire TV.

The $99 Amazon Fire TV hooks up to your television set, allowing you to watch streaming TV and movies without any hassle. Oh, and there are games too.

Amazon has already confirmed support from several streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, and YouTube. Many more, including Twitch, will be added in the coming months.

In terms of gaming, the Amazon Fire TV is going to house mobile games based on the Android operating system. A controller costing $40 is required for some titles.
