Art for the Musical Birds Video | Finches and Instruments Create Brilliant Installation

Forget Rockin’ Robin. The zebra finches of this art installation really know how to strike a chord.

They’re part of a new art installation in London’s The Curve. The work, by French artist Celeste Boursier-Mougenot, is a walk-through aviary with a difference.

Alongside the finches there are electric guitars and other musical instruments. As the birds go about their regular routine, they create a captivating soundscape.

I love it, but I’m not sure the birds are as easily impressed. The one making a nest looks very confused by the sounds his “tree” makes as he threads twigs through the strings!
