There’s a time honoured tradition in the land of TV telethons that sees celebrities embarrassing themselves to raise funds for charities. Ordinarily we’d never see Today hosts Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic belting out on tune, but on yesterday’s Gold Week Telethon it all made sense. Sort of.
Clips like this are cringe-inducing telethon gold. Neither TV personality can sing, and those outfits just made the whole thing even more excruciating. Karl admitted that we wouldn’t see them on The Voice any time soon. At least the man knows his limitations.
And at least their efforts weren’t unrewarded. They helped Channel Nine raise $2.2 million for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
