What follows is an inspired passage of play that you won’t find in any textbook. It takes the catcher by surprise, giving the determined runner enough time to take the home plate.
I think coaches should show this clip to their young charges. It shows us that there are no certainties in sport. With a little drive, and a dash of creativity, it seems you can get out of any situation!
