Adam Yauch, AKA MCA from the Beastie Boys, has died at the tender age of just 47. He had been battling cancer for three years.
Yauch was a founding member of the Beastie Boys, one of the few white rap groups to actually succeed and be held in esteem by others in their genre. He, alongside Mike D and Ad-Rock, made music together for more than 30 years.
Although fans knew Yauch was ill the signs had always been good that he would recover. He himself told of a positive outlook during his battle with the illness. So his death came as a big shock.
Rest In Peace MCA, you will be sorely missed as a music pioneer.
