I always thought the point of democracy was that we the people could ask our politicians, the people we elected to run the country in our interests, questions. But it appears some disagree.
This video shows Bob Etheridge, a Democrat Congressman for North Carolina, not taking kindly to being asked a simple question. Whether it constitutes assault is unclear, but it’s certainly not pleasant to watch.
The people behind the cameras identify themselves as students, but don’t give any more details. There’s an obvious conclusion to make that they are Republican or belong to a right-wing party, and are out to cause trouble.
However, even if they are, that doesn’t excuse Etheridge’s behavior. Which, at the very least, constitutes an over-the-top reaction, and possibly could be construed as assault. And all caught on camera. Oops.
