NEW YORK-SEP 13: Actress Jennifer Lawrence (L) and director Darr

Speaking at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event, actress Jennifer Lawrence opened up about being objectified early on in her career. Other females in Hollywood delivered speeches about the hurdles they faced in their journey to the big screen, but Lawrence’s speech was the most memorable and timely.

Lawrence recalled being asked to lose 15 pounds in two weeks when she first started out in Hollywood. The producer for that film asked her to do a nude lineup for the part, and use the naked photo as inspiration to lose weight.

The actress, who was an honoree at the L.A. event, said the experience made her feel “trapped.”

“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producer of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” she said. “During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much thinner than me. We stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates.”

That’s when the female producer said she should use the naked photos of herself as inspiration for her diet.

“I’m still learning that I don’t have to smile when a man makes me uncomfortable,” she added. “Every human being should have the power to be treated with respect because they’re human.”

In a statement to People, Lawrence also addressed the allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The actress recalled working with Weinstein, but said she never experienced any form of harassment.

“My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions,” she said. “And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward.”

Dozens of women have come forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment, including Ashley Judd, Cara Delevigne and Angelina Jolie, in a New York Times report. Weinstein allegedly came to a settlement with eight women, including Rose McGowan.

LOS ANGELES - JUL 30: Corey Stoll & Skeet Ulrich arrive at the

Actor Skeet Ulrich, who rose to fame in the 1990s with the film Scream, commented on the allegations against Harvey Weinstein in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan.

Over the last few weeks, several women have stepped forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment. A few have accused him of rape.

Rose McGowan, Ulrich’s Scream co-star, was one of the first women to come forward with allegations. Weinstein has denied engaging in non-consensual sex.

“I knew,” Ulrich told Cosmopolitan. “Most people knew. I had dinner with someone who is one of the most famous women on the plat – I won’t say who it is – who has not come out, who told me similar things.”

The magazine pressed Ulrich on why he didn’t come forward sooner. His response was the same as most others in Hollywood: He didn’t want to lose his career.

“I can’t step up, certainly then, on allegations,” he explained. “Honestly, and I think it’s what most people faced: How do you cut your livelihood from a very powerful corporation on something that you don’t know what the facts are?”

Ulrich said he’s glad more people are stepping forward.

“Because one person stepping up and making allegations is gonna hurt that one person and not help anyone, especially [against] someone with that power,” he added.

Sallie Hofmeister, Weinstein’s rep, issued a statement regarding the allegations.

“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances. Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual.”

Weinstein is reportedly in counseling and “pursuing a better path.” The statement from his rep says he hopes he can be given a second chance if he makes enough progress.

Jason Momoa, former Game of Thrones actor, has apologized for making a joke about “raping beautiful women” on the show. Momoa made the joke in 2011 during a panel discussion at Comic Con. A video clip of his comment surfaced on the web this week, a time when sexual harassment in the entertainment industry is in the limelight.

Footage of the video has gone viral since it was first posted to Twitter on Thursday. In the clip, Momoa is heard saying, “There’s so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it…rape a beautiful woman, you know?” The actor was referring to the sci-fi and fantasy genre, which Game of Thrones is a part of.

Momoa released a statement apologizing for the comments he made several years ago.

“I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago a in Hall H for which I am sorry,” Momoa said on Instagram. “I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day. I know my sincerest apology now won’t take away those hurtful words. Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends.”

Momoa added that he “made a truly tasteless comment” that was unacceptable, and offered his sincerest apologies.

The footage of Momoa’s comments came amidst allegations that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted several women throughout his career. Multiple women have also come out and made assault allegations against Ben Affleck.

Several actresses have spoken up about their experiences with Weinstein, including Kate Beckinsale, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ashley Judd. The New York Police Department has opened an investigation into the allegations against the mogul.

The Simpsons isn’t as good as it once was. That’s no great shame though. After all, it’s been on the air for almost 30 years.

However, despite its slight dip in quality, The Simpsons still has the power to make me laugh out loud occasionally. And this is one such occasion.

Donna Karan’s comments on Sunday caused a flurry of backlash. The designer defended Harvey Weinstein after recent allegations of sexual harassment against the movie mogul. The Times exposed the mogul, who has allegations spanning back over thirty years.

Weinstein was also removed from his own company on Sunday amid claims of harassment.

Karan was at the Cinemoi Fashion Film Award on Sunday and asked if “women are asking for it,” discussing the sexual harassment. The comments irked fans of the designer and caused a lot of backlash on social media.

“I made a statement that unfortunately is not representative of how I feel or what I believe. I have spent my life championing women,” she said. She alleges that her comments were taken out of context. “My life has been dedicated to dressing and addressing the needs of women, empowering them and promoting equal rights,” she states.

“I believe that sexual harassment is not acceptable.”

She says the comments she made do not represent how she feels in the current situation. She apologized to anyone that she may have offended with her comments and any people that may have been victims of Weinstein.

Numerous stars have come out against the movie mogul, including Mark Ruffalo, Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, Rose McGowan and Meryl Streep. Ashley Judd has also come out against Weinstein and is allegedly one of his victims.

Karan was one of the only celebrities who defended Weinstein. She even questioned if women were asking to be harassed because of the way that they “display or present” themselves.

“And what are we throwing out to our children today about how to dance and how to perform and what to wear? How much should they show?” she stated prior to her apology. She stated that women are asking for trouble with the way that they dress and present themselves.

bigstock--197051569Jackie Chan confirms that Rush Hour 4 is happening after more than a decade. Chan appeared on The Cruz Show on Power 106 where he discussed the franchise. He states that after years of rumors, he has given a green light on producing the next iteration of the film.

Chan stated that he has acted in several different roles over the years, but that Rush Hour is a film that you can do at any time despite your age. He even states, “Rush Hour you can do any time… Next year!”

He stated that insiders have been pushing the actor for a new film for seven years. He turned down the script year after year, but he states that just yesterday they agreed to a new script.

“The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, probably start,” Chan said.

Chan states that the only catch is his partner in the series, Chris Tucker. He states that the film going into production will depend fully on Tucker’s agreement. Tucker has yet to comment on the film or if he will agree to be a part of it. Chan states that the biggest issue for Tucker will “most likely” be scheduling constraints.

Five years ago, Tucker said in an interview that “we’re looking into it,” commenting on him and Chan filming Rush Hour 4. Chan also stated that he will meet with the director and Chris Tucker soon to make sure the script is going in the right direction.

There has not been a confirmation on who will be director if Tucker agrees to the film. Brett Ratner, the director of the previous Rush Hour films, is likely to be the director for the franchise’s fourth film, too.

Naya Rivera, the former Glee Star, has called off her divorce from Ryan Dorsey. The 30-year-old actress filed a dismissal on her divorce papers nearly a year since she originally filed for divorce in November 2016.

E! News reports that “they want to make it work for the sake of their son.”

Dorsey and Rivera dated in the past before she became engaged to Big Sean in 2013. Big Sean called off his wedding with Rivera. Dorsey and Rivera reunited shortly after she broke up with the rapper. They would go on to get married in a secret ceremony just three months after they got back together.

The couple’s son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, was born in September 2015.

Sources told US Magazine that “Naya didn’t tell most of her friends that she was marrying Ryan Dorsey, let alone that she was dating him.” Sources stated that “the whole thing is a complete surprise.”

The couple’s divorce made headlines when the two released a joint statement saying “after much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage.” Rivera filed for divorce on November 15, 2016. She requested physical and legal custody of their son and requested that Dorsey have visitation rights. The reason for the divorce was “irreconcilable differences,” according to the court documents.

Rivera reported in April 2017 that she and her husband are “very good at co-parenting.” She has remained confident throughout the entire divorce filing that Josey has been the couple’s main priority. “Doing what’s best for Josey is really what it boils down to,” she states.

Rivera has dated since she filed for divorce. She was linked to David Spade for a brief time, but reports indicate that the couple split up in June. The two seemed to be a brief summer fling, with reports of the two dating when they were seen poolside together in Hawaii.
