I’m not a fruit and chocolate kind of woman myself, but there is a big romantic stigma attached to chocolate dipped strawberries.

An alternative to choc-dipped strawberries on a plate is the always popular choc-strawberry bouquet. All you need are some fake roses. Chop the rose head off and stick the strawberry on there.

Hot wings are a favorite for people watching the Super Bowl. And rightly so, as they’re fairly cheap, simple to prepare, and can appeal to everyone sat around watching the TV.

There are some fancy ways of making chicken wings, but I’ve never been a fan of gourmet cooking. I’d much rather eat simple, wholesome food which is easy to make and easy to eat.

This hot wings recipe comes from Nicko’s Kitchen, and it’s so easy that anyone could make it. Even me. Just don’t feed it to anyone who isn’t into hot food, as it looks like it might have a bit of a kick.

With the Superbowl approaching, you’re probably busy nutting out your game day menu. Why serve up the same old chicken wings when you can impress your friends with this gourmet dish?

This video takes just three and a half minutes, but I have an idea that executing this Top Chef meal would take a whole lot longer. Just make sure you’ve got your nitrogen dioxide handy!

There is a Jamie Oliver video as well, but it wasn’t nearly as hilarious as this video.

And anyone who has watched Nigella’s shows would have to know that it would be very easy to put together a video like this. She always seems to have a bit of a naughty attitude when it comes to food.

Honestly, when the Gordon Ramsay one came out, I fully expected clips from her show to be next.

Okay, come on. Do I really need an excuse to put up a video on how to make such a delicious dessert that is also so yummy?

I made a bread pudding for the first time a couple of years ago, and they really are delicious.

For some of the people in the northern hemisphere, the time is right for a hot bowl of soup to warm you all the way to your cold toes.

Many of us in the southern hemisphere will just ignore you and put another ice cube in our lemonades.

I personally think just the idea of split pea soup is just gross, but what the masses call for… But I do love other soups – especially a creamy tomato soup. Yum-o.

In Australia, we call that a mint slice.

Okay, so not exactly, but a mint slice made with brownie would be so, so awesome.

So you know how much I love food and ‘how to make this delicious thing’ recipe videos. Did you really think I would let you get away without at least one Christmas recipe video?

I thought not.

And why not brownies? They are delicious and, as you can see here, easy to make. I’d prefer to use my recipe, but it’s up to you. The mint may be more appropriate for a dense brownie rather than a cake-like one.

Easy math for an easy – but perfect – prime rib feast. Who wants ham when you can have riiiiiiibs.

As you may have guessed, I really like ribs. A lot. In barbeque sauce. Yum.

I would like to figure out how to do the math using kilos because all that weight conversion stuff is a bit annoying, but otherwise, this is a great recipe.

But man, holy gobs of butter, batman! That’s a large amount of butter. Sheesh.

Still, I bet that just makes them taste even more fantastic than the finished ribs look anyway.

This video shows us how to make sugar cookies using a classic sugar cookie recipe. It’s something anyone could make, even children, so why not make some for the 2011 holidays?

Sugar cookies are just about the simplest cookies anyone could make. There are few ingredients and mixing them together isn’t exactly rocket science.

Thankfully sugar cookies are also really tasty, whether they’re eaten warm straight from the oven or after they have been hanging on a Christmas tree for a few days.

Not only the kids help you make these sugar cookies, they can also decorate the tops. That way the sugar cookies go from being plain and neutral to something original and unique. And possibly even tastier as a result.

It’s not exactly Betty’s Turkey Pot Pie, but it’s a much shorter video for when you want a quick, easy to understand recipe.

As much as you eat on Thanksgiving, you always end up with leftovers from the day. In fact, some people say that is the best part of Thanksgiving!

Personally, I think it’s the pumpkin pie, but there aren’t always leftovers of that.

I decided to put up another Turkey Pot Pie recipe just because the one I posted a while back is a bit old and a bit long.

Pumpkin cheesecake sounds delicious. But as it’s a very American dish I haven’t ever tried it. This video showing Judy Parks making one makes me want to sample some right now. And on none other than Thanksgiving.

Cheesecakes of any variety can be tricky to make and easy to get wrong. The base can crack, the filling can be lumpy, and the whole thing can end up looking like it has already been digested once before.

Having written for WebTVHub for a few years now I’ve learned a lot of things, and today marks another step on that road of discovery.

Not only did I not know much about Thanksgiving (being British an’ all) I had never even heard of deviled eggs. Now I know Thanksgiving is all about stuffing your face, and that deviled eggs looks delicious.

These deviled eggs in particular looks damn tasty. I’ve seen some horrible, lumpy concoctions made in the past, but these are smooth, creamy, and I bet they taste great. Now all I need is someone to make me some.

The only reason (and I really mean the only reason) I’d like to be American is Thanksgiving. It’s like an extra holiday that the rest of the world misses out on. And there is Black Friday too for those who still have some money left.

Sweet potato casserole looks like one of the most appetizing and downright delicious Thanksgiving dishes. This video makes me not only want to try it but also make it. Even I could manage this level of preparation.

I have always liked sweet potato, and it’s actually better for you than normal potato. Less calories, more fiber, and loads of nutrients mean it is classified as a vegetable rather than out-and-out carbs.

Brown sugar and marshmallows on top is the final ingredient of a sweet potato casserole. And because you know the rest of the dish is fairly healthy you can afford to treat yourself with the topping.

It’s hard to go past a pumpkin cheesecake, but pecan pie is also a delicious addition to your Thanksgiving Day meal.

Okay, so I don’t actually celebrate Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate all the deliciousness that happens on the day.

Okay, so I have never actually had pecan pie, but I imagine that it is delicious!

I have to admit that I kind of miss the absolute indulgence that is Thanksgiving Day in the US. I miss stuffing and pumpkin pie – especially the pumpkin pie.

This is a video showing the recipe and demonstration of how to cook a green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. Although why you’d want to I have no idea, quite frankly.

I guess in the same way most Brits only eat turkey at Christmas, Americans only eat certain foods at Thanksgiving (turkey included) because they’re traditional. Which is fine. It’s nice to have traditions.

But this is green bean casserole! And it’s only been around since the 1950s!

Green beans are rank, and should only be eaten for their health benefits. But those health benefits are somewhat negated by the adding of bacon (with the grease) and creamy mushroom soup. So what’s the point?

Give me a pizza any day, which is, incidentally, now classed as a vegetable in the U.S. Well, I never.

Spice up your Thanksgiving pumpkin pie desert by making it a pumpkin cheesecake instead!

Yum. Excuse me while I drool all over my laptop.

One thing that I miss since moving to Australia is the good ol’ pumpkin pie. You can’t get pumpkin in a pan, so making one from scratch is a bit of a pain in the rear end.

I’ve done it, but roasting my own pumkins… Time consuming.

I am a huge cheesecake fan, so the combination of two of my favourite desserts? Two thumbs way up. Double yum.

We all know it’s bad for us, at least when eaten in abundance, but that doesn’t stop us enjoying our love affair with McDonald’s. And some of the items on the menu are particularly tasty and sought after.

What the frack am I on about? The McRib, of course. Which is a McDonald’s menu item that only makes an appearance once every blue moon. Except in Germany where it’s permanently available.

In the U.S. these occasional appearances mean the McRib has gained a cultlike status, with people talking about it in reverential tones while it’s not available. And then it appears once again and people go mad for it.

The McRib is coming back once again, with McDonald’s stores across the U.S. stocking it from Nov. 14. And the good news? It’s not even as bad as a Big Mac in terms of calories and fat content. I’ll have two.

This video shows Gordon Ramsay, Scottish chef extraordinaire preparing a Baked Alaska. He makes it look so easy even I could do it, although I haven’t got a fancy mixer or a blowtorch kicking around the house.

I don’t like Gordon Ramsay. I find him condescending and shouty. He also has this strange epileptic fit-style when preparing a dish, constantly moving and trying to get the cameraman to keep up.

However, he is a brilliant chef, of that there is no doubt. And for someone such as myself who has never eaten Baked Alaska, let alone prepared one, this video hits the spot.

Baked Alaska isn’t exactly a healthy dish – ice cream, sugar, cake, and egg whites – but I guess it is meant as an occasional treat rather than a daily staple of your diet. Either way I’d like to try it, and perhaps even try making it.

A good apple crisp, or apple crumble as we Brits call it (and it’s a better name, you must admit) is my favorite dessert. Heavy, sure, but doused with custard there is little that’s finer to the tastebuds.

We’ve now reached the fall, or autumn as we Brits call it (and it’s a better name, you must admit) and so there are an abundance of apples just waiting to be peeled, diced, and baked.

I’d rather turn them into cider, but there is only so much of that you can drink before you need some sugary goodness, which is where the apple crisp comes into its own.

This video is just one of a host on YouTube showing what you need and how to make a perfect apple crisp. But it’s such a simple dish to make there is scope for experimentation. You may just hit on an amazing combination.
