Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of year again. You aren’t even out of Christmas credit card debt and you’re expected to fork out for something ‘romantic’. Why not try the cheaper route but get all the extra points for being thoughtful?

I’m not a fruit and chocolate kind of woman myself, but there is a big romantic stigma attached to chocolate dipped strawberries.

An alternative to choc-dipped strawberries on a plate is the always popular choc-strawberry bouquet. All you need are some fake roses. Chop the rose head off and stick the strawberry on there.

The Hunger Games is promising to be the next big movie franchise when it hits cinemas in March. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of film-related viral vids at that time, but for now Holly Laurent is ahead of the rest with her Lana Del Rey song spoof “Hunger Games.”

This well produced video perfectly parodies the indie darling’s hit single “Video Games.” It looks the business, Holly Laurent’s note perfect in mimicking Del Rey, and the lyrics are very clever.

It’s almost enough to make me want to read those books, just to get all the jokes. Or perhaps I’ll need to revisit the video after the movie’s release!

We’ve all seen those ads extolling the virtues of various bodybuilding programs or health supplements. I used to look like this, and now I look like this. Voila!!!

It turns out we may have all been duped.

This guy, who goes by the name of Furious Pete (don’t ask me why), decided to test a theory. He took the After photo first, then did some horrible stuff to his body before taking the Before photo. And what do you know.

Even without the Photoshop enhancements there is a huge and very noticeable difference. Sadly the things he did in the five hours between the two photos are what I do each and every day. That’s right folks, I’m a walking Before photograph.

This video shows the first official trailer for The Bourne Legacy, the fourth Bourne movie but the first one not to feature the titular character of Bourne or Matt Damon.

Will it suck or be absolutely awesome?

If the trailer is anything to go on The Bourne Legacy is going to rock. Matt Damon is a loss to the franchise, without doubt, but Jeremy Renner is a ready-made replacement and a fine actor in his own right.

Tony Gilroy, who wrote the first three Bourne movies, wrote and directed The Bourne Legacy, which has clearly helped. And who knows, Damon could return as Bourne in the future. Perhaps teaming up with Renner to take down Treadstone!

The Bourne Legacy is due for release on Aug. 3. I’ll definitely be there.

This is a small clip from BBC taking a look at what makes an internet troll and trying to gain some insight as to why they do it.

I hardly know where to start with this one.

Some people may say that this video is pointless and why are they tracking down these people when there are murderers and rapists running around.

But I think it’s a valuable thing because there is a lot of internet trolling and bullying.

Not only has this caused/contributed to suicides, but it really shines a light on needing to examine what is wrong with society that people feel unfulfilled unless they try damaging other people.

He’s a sad man, to be sure.

Six months after Emmet Cole goes missing, a mysteries rescue beacon call from the Amazon encourages some friends and family to go in search of him. What they find when they get there causes more questions than provides answers…

In typical ‘mockumentary’ horror style, the ‘documentary’ crew follows the wife and son of Emmet Cole as they search for answers to his disappearance.

When the family reaches the lost ship, they find a lot of strange clues, like the beacon being attached to a shark cage in the water… and the shark cage looking like it was ripped open – from the inside.

It’s certainly a good start for mystery fans, but next week will show if it really caught audiences.

Mike Tompkins doesn’t need a band or backing track. In this video we see him take on the vocals and instruments of Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite.”

Through the power of some slick editing it all comes together beautifully. Tompkins’ voice isn’t quite as smooth as Taio’s, but his impressive beat boxing skills definitely make up for those shortcomings.

While the song’s great, make sure you stick around for the end when Tompkins explains how he does what he does. It might take away a bit of the mystery and magic, but it’s fascinating to see how a great video like this comes to be.

According to wikipedia, the largest known whale shark was 41.5 ft in length- the one that was found in Pakistan today was 40 ft.

The unconscious whale was sighted 10 days ago along the coast, and it wasn’t until today that it was pulled out with 5 cranes.

The sharks are illegal to hunt in India and it was stated in the local Karachi newspaper that the whale was already dead when it was pulled out of the water.

Pardon my pun, but something seems fishy to me about this story.

One of the best Super Bowl ads this year was Matthew Broderick’s Day Off, a spin on the classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie from 1986. But how do the two compare?

One video editor spent rather too long putting the new ad for the Honda CR-V next to the movie and comparing them shot-for-shot, side-by-side. And the result is fascinating.

This shows the lengths Honda and the advertising firm it hired went to to ensure the ad was accurate and memorable. It doesn’t quite make me want to buy a new car, but it does make me want to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off again.

This video shows The Young Turks reporting on the ruling that Prop 8 has been ruled unconstitutional. This guy, Cenk Uygur, talks a lot of sense on the subject.

According to the panel of three judges, Prop 8 “violated the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment,” as it “serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples.”

What’s flabbergasting is that this is far from over. You’d think that once something had been ruled as unconstitutional that would be that. After all, the constitution is revered absolutely in the U.S. But no.

There will still likely be an appeal to this ruling, and until all due process is followed through this will not come into effect. So gay couples in California will have to wait a little longer before getting wed. Shameful.

Maria Menounos proves herself to be a woman of her word when it comes to honoring lost bets as she hosted the show wearing nothing but a Giants coloured bikini.

And she just ruined the body images of thousands of girls by implying that she looked/felt fat in her bikini.

At least both of the guys smartly didn’t say anything about her comment.

Personally, I don’t really give a rat’s rear end who was playing, who won and who lost their bets, but at least Patriot’s fans have a pretty sight to soothe themselves with.

On the surface Take This Waltz appears like so many introspective talky indie films. However there are a few reasons to take a look at Sarah Polley’s latest flick.

The first is clearly Polley herself, who brought us the award-winning Away From Her. Then there’s Michelle Williams, who seems incapable of choosing a bad film or delivering a bad performance.

But perhaps I’m most interested to see both Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman take on some dramatic roles. Rogen’s skirted around drama with some of his more moving comedies, but this is something even meatier for him.

Take This Waltz hits American cinemas in June.

Last year a trailer of this surfaced, and I wasn’t too thrilled. It just seemed like a video game- the CGI needed a lot of work to say the least.

But now that this second trailer has just been released, I’m going to have to put my stamp of approval on this. This is defiantly NOT the same Spiderman that we’re used to seeing in theaters.

Peter Parker is back with a new bad-boy image, Mary Jane doesn’t have red hair (or is that supposed to be Gwen Stacy?), and the villain in this movie looks to be The Lizard.

As a fan of the old trilogy, I’m going to have too see this! Sometimes, change is good.

This video shows a cat eyeing up a light fitting. Will he jump or won’t he jump? That is the question.

Assuming you have watched the video from beginning to end by now, you’ll know the answer. He jumps. A long way. Like some feline stuntman willing to risk life and limb for a YouTube hit.

What I find fascinating about this video is the decision-making process the cat goes through in his mind before leaping. He starts off being nosy, wants to jump but doesn’t and then ends up thinking, “What have I got to lose?”

I’m guessing the cat has either jumped up on the light fitting before, or at the very least eyed it up. Why else would its owners have a video camera set up to capture the moment for ever?

This is the kind of video that really needs to introduction of description. Just watch it and be awed. This is Needing/Getting by OK Go.

Now that you have watched it – I hope you have – we can dissect it. This is OK Go, a band now known primarily for their innovative music videos. And this is perhaps their greatest yet.

It may not be as deceptively simple as the infamous treadmills video, but the amount of effort (and money, no doubt) that must have gone into making this is beyond imagining.

The concept is simple: set instruments up, so that when you drive past them in your adapted vehicle they play a tune. Have the driver sing his part while doing so and there you have it. Absolutely amazing. And worth watching again and again.

University poltics students discuss not only their own government but what they view as wrong with the United States government and policies.

These very well spoken (especially given English is not their first language) Chinese students have a lot of good points not only about what is going on in the US but about their own government.

The world could go a long way if we educate more of our youth to this degree so they can look around at the various governments and perhaps come up with solutions to the problems most countries are having.

I hope all of them go on to do great things.

Josh Powell, a person of interest in the 2009 disappearance of his wife Susan, and his two sons were killed today in a house explosion that is suspected to be a murder suicide.

The evidence that the explosion at the Powell household was intentional just keeps piling up as police have found gallons of gasoline dousing their home.

‘Final goodbye’ emails from Josh to various family and friends seem to have sealed the case as a deliberate murder suicide.

People around the world who have heard this news story are no doubt in shock, their hearts breaking for those two little boys.

It’s been some time since we heard anything from Nick Pitera. In recent months it seems he’s traded in the Disney for some showtunes and slick production.

This video sees Nick taking the parts of Raoul, Christine, and The Phantom in an incredible one-man version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.

Nick fans will get just what they’ve been craving here: more amazing male vocals and freakishly good female ones. I still don’t know how he does it, but I’m always impressed.

And if you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing Nick’s crazy man-woman routine, this video is a fabulous introduction!

The last time M.I.A. had a video directed by Romain Gavras it was banned by YouTube.

This time, rather than a serious approach, her song “Bad Girls” is pretty peppy and upbeat. Still, it’s worth a watch due to the overall badassness that takes place in Moroccan desert.

I’m not from the Middle East, and I don’t plan on visiting anytime soon, but I’d love to see these street racers in real life. As with the “Born Free” video, this contains some Arabian elements and guns.

Only, this time, it just makes the middle east look fun.
