We’re only a few episodes in to the American Idol auditions and already the process is starting to wear on me. If you can’t bear to sit through all those no-talent fame whores to hear the cream, this is the video for you. If you only see one audition, make it Reed Grimm’s.

Rather than picking one of those big diva ballads or top 20 tunes, Reed scats his way through the theme from Family Matters. Idol tells us it’s all about song choice, and this one is a great way to stand out.

His scatting is sublime, and his pitch so warm. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this cutie in Hollywood!

The Bachelor is back, with Season 16 making its debut yesterday (Jan. 2, 2012). Judging by Facebook and Twitter many people, some of whom I formerly considered intelligent, tuned in.

The Bachelor isn’t a show I watch. What little I have seen of it suggests it’s the worst kind of reality TV, with vacuous idiots vying for attention in order to become celebrities.

The big problem here is there is no talent on display. These people only have one thing going for them, and that is they look good. Shouldn’t we have moved on from that by now?

The Bachelor will continue to make headlines and give people something to talk about. Meanwhile I’ll be doing something a little more productive with my time.

Forget all those videos of animals acting dumb and people falling over drunk. They’re only mildly funny. If you want to really laugh then you have to watch this video. It is truly hilarious.

I can understand the contestants getting upset but what the hell is wrong with Nicole Scherzinger? She acts as though this is the toughest decision she has ever had to make, when it really isn’t.

There is also the fact that she gets paid to be a judge on The X Factor, paid a hell of a lot of money at that. So why shirk the responsibility of making a decision when that is part of the job?

I also have to ask what the hell is Steve Jones doing presenting The X Factor in America. He is rubbish. Surely he’s a little out of his depth here. Then again, it’s not too hard to read from an auto-cue and look serious from time to time, is it.

Kourtney and Kim Take New York season 2 has premiered in the U.S. And it’s making the headlines as the series is set to show how the marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries only lasted 72 days.

This is the video promo for the second season of the reality TV show, as the trio confidently step from a helicopter. This was probably the highlight of their marriage.

Kris Humphries is a douche in his own right, but he is also one for having got involved with Kim Kardashian. What was he thinking? His skills to judge people are clearly even worse than his personality.

The rot sets in during this first episode, and eight weeks later the two decided to get divorced. Talk about making a mockery of marriage. These two rushed into it just for fame and money. And I guess they got what they wanted in the end.

The Dancing With the Stars champions have been crowned, and J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are ready to celebrate!

The thirteenth season of the stunning dance show saw the Iraqi war veteran and former All My Children soap star J.R. Martinez shine.

Partnered with the beautiful professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, they had fans straight away from the beginning of the season.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians sibling Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke finished in second place, but they were certainly still quite happy.

The celebrity list goes on, of course, with former talk show host Ricki Lake and partner Derek Hough claiming third place.

Reece Mastin has taken out this year’s X Factor Australia title. The 16-year-old teen from Adelaide beat out father of four Andrew Wishart.

Both singers have been consistently brilliant this year, but at the end of the day it’s hardly surprising that the good looking young boy ended up with the votes. He truly does have the whole package, from his killer rock voice and charismatic stage presence to that shaggy long hair and endearing gap-toothed grin.

His single “Good Night” seems like a poor man’s “Raise Your Glass,” but it’ll be interesting to see what Reece produces once he gets some creative control.

This is a few years old, but you know they would be able to pull the same prank today and get similar results.

I love how not only did they manage to convince some of the people that the Canadian border had actually moved but that they were able to convince people to swear an oath to Canada.

Oh, yes, America; you should be proud. I don’t care how old the video is. Haha.

Now, I wonder what kind of reactoins they would have gotten had the prank been that the Mexican border had been moved up.

That would have been interesting.

Tonight The X Factor contestants sang for the last time in the hopes of earning Australia’s votes. The evening saw them pairing up with some industry stars for some surprising duets. While most fell flat, Reece Mastin and Kylie Minogue showed the others how it’s done.

When I heard teen rocker Reece would sing with the Aussie pop princess I was concerned, but tackling “Kids” made perfect sense. The pair gelled from the get go and the crowd lapped up their chemistry.

The performance might not see him winning the competition, but at least he’s gone out on a high.

When reality TV stars (with pots of cash) collide, fun ensues. This is Alan Sugar, or Lord Sugar as he pompously insists on being called from The Apprentice going head-to-head with the dragons from Dragons’ Den.

Children In Need was on TV for something ridiculous like eight hours. I avoided the whole thing except the last 10 minutes when they showed the highlights of the highlights. There weren’t many.

This was just about the only one which stood out for me, and made me search YouTube to find the full clip. I’m glad I did as it’s surprisingly funny, even with the wooden delivery by Sugar and co.

As for Children In Need, I know it’s a good cause and everything but man, does the show suck. And how come those of us in the 99% are being asked to donate when celebrities who are part of the 1% get away with just donating their time?

We’re at the pointy end of The X Factor Australia competition, with just one elimination remaining before the grand final. These kinds of competitions are usually won by the pretty young things, so it’s surprising and exciting to see Andrew Wishart hanging in there.

He showed us why he’s won the country over this week with a moving performance of John Farnham’s “Burn for You.” In a week that called for the contestants to show us heartbreak, Andrew was the only one who really fulfilled the brief. This was also the first performance that compelled me to pick up my phone and vote.

Hopefully my vote means something and sees Andrew sailing through to the grand final where he belongs.

There’s one in every reality TV competition; the Teflon contestant that seems to coast through against the odds. In this season of The X Factor Australia, that contestant is Johnny Ruffo.

He’s very pretty and he can dance up a storm, but for weeks he’s struggle to stay on pitch. However with this performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke” it all came together.

I never imagined I’d name a Johnny Ruffo performance as the best of the night, but on a lackluster evening this underdog shone. Despite my pleas we haven’t been able to get rid of the guy yet. And after this, I’m pretty sure he’ll stick around for another week.

After slaying us with their rendition of “You’re The Voice” on The X Factor last week, Three Wishez did it again last night with an incredible mash-up of Chaka Khan’s “I Feel For You” and Salt N Pepa’s “Push It.”

The urban trio brought the 80s back with their enthusiastic performance. There wasn’t a hint of self consciousness or cheese here. They believed in their retro trip and so we did too.

Perhaps I’m a bit biased as a child of this decade, but after hearing the other acts taking on modern dance hits from David Guetta and Empire of the Sun I was thrilled to see a band heading back to dance music’s golden age. Funnily enough it felt fresher than any of those contemporary tunes.

Three Wishez are playing to win now, and if they keep performing like this they might just do it!

After Young Men Society’s shock exit from The X Factor Australia competition, Ronan Keating’s remaining group Three Wishez needed to step up. And step up they did with an incredible performance of John Farnham’s “You’re The Voice.”

I was nervous when I heard the urban act were taking on the Aussie rock classic, but I needn’t have been. They made it their own with some sweet soul vocals and gentle rapping. The result was something more joyous and patriotic than we’ve seen all season.

I don’t mind admitting that I brushed away a tear or two as Three Wishez performed this one. YMS who?

Andrew Wishart has been the quiet achiever of this year’s X Factor Australia competition. However this week the father of four stepped it up with his version of Stereophonics’ “Dakota.”

Andrew’s always been amongst the show’s best with his ballads, but in attempting something with a bit more rock he showed us his versatility. I’ve got to say, I’m impressed.

There’s more than a touch of Peter Griffin about Andrew, but there’s something so honest and endearing about him. You can keep your polished and pretty young things; I’d much rather see an Andrew Wishart making his mark on the music industry!

With Young Men Society suffering a bit of a form slump, other X Factor Australia acts are taking the opportunity to step up. This week it was Christina Parie’s turn to wow us.

This teen has always been good, but given a meatier song choice in The Cranberries’ “Zombie” she became great. I appreciated the stripped back treatment, with Christina sitting at the piano and not a back-up dancer in sight.

I was really impressed by the way a privileged young thing from Australia could give this song about an IRA bombing the right amount of emotional depth. This kid is definitely one to watch.

This is probably one of the most low-brow videos I’ve shared on WebTVHub, but it does remind us that there are few things funnier than a fart. That goes double when it comes from conservative former lawyer and political commentator Nancy Grace.

To be fair, we’re not certain that Nancy cut the cheese. But I’m sure any jury would find that her face says guilty. Those amused onlookers certainly don’t help her case any.

I suppose it could have been worse. The moment of shame could have come in the middle of her waltz. Although then there may have been a chance the music would drown her out. During the post-dance interview, there’s nowhere to hide!

If you’ve been reading about The X Factor Australia here, you could be forgiven for thinking it’s a one horse race. Young Men Society have consistently impressed us, but last night they were outshone by Andrew Wishart with his moving version of “The Flame.”

The lyrics of this Cheap Trick classic clearly hit home for the father of four. It must be tough to plug away at a reality TV competition without the presence of your wife and kidlets. But if it results in heartfelt performances like this, maybe it’s not entirely a bad thing.

Perhaps Young Men Society should watch their backs; Andrew Wishart’s definitely on the up!

On paper the pairing of the soulful Young Men Society and Australian rock legends AC/DC sounds unusual, to say the least. I was worried when I heard the band was singing “You Shook Me All Night Long,” but I needn’t have been. This vocal group could make the phone book sound like heaven.

These guys really have it all: the looks, the moves, the charisma, and of course those vocals from heaven. When we’re talking about X Factor, these guys have it in spades.

It’s only early days, but the other acts will have to come out with something special to touch these lads.

Australia’s X Factor competition is heating up after the live performance shows commenced tomorrow night. Many musicians crumbled under the challenge of the big stage, but one act that made great use of it were Young Men Society.

These three likable blokes performed an inspired mash-up of Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song” and Jessie J’s “Price Tag.” It was a joyous performance that was incredibly entertaining to watch, even if its beginning did feel a bit cheesy.

These guys have got the vocal chops, the moves, and the charisma to go all the way, but it’s very early days. Do you think they have The X Factor?

Before she turned our heads in The House Bunny and Easy A, Emma Stone was gunning to become a member of the reimagined Partridge Family in the reality TV series In Search of the Partridge Family. It sounds farfetched, but here’s the video proof!

Emily Stone as she was calling herself then showed she could pull off a passable Pat Benatar. This version of “We Belong” isn’t a patch on the original, but it’s not half bad.

It seems the judges agreed, because Emma was actually named as the new Laurie. That new Partridge Family never eventuated, but something tells me that Emma’s not losing any sleep over it!
