Ooh, that’s gotta hurt. Badly. It’s a fail of epic proportions. But thankfully for those of us watching on YouTube, it’s also hilarious. Why is it so funny to see people getting mildly hurt?

It’s bizarre how we as humans love seeing other people getting hurt. Not seriously, obviously, but just mildly. So they survive but maybe had to spend a couple of days in hospital.

This guy proper goes arse over tit, but he does make it look classy as well. So I take my hat off to him. He eventually gets some assistance, but not before taking a hit to his pride as well as various parts of his body.

The obvious question is why have such a stupid obstacle in the first place. I know it’s meant to be a cross-country type of bike race, and this man-made barrier is there in place of a fallen tree or something, but still. Fail.

Another day, another douche. That’s right folks, it’s time to watch another complete and utter tool fail at doing something stupid. And then shout FAIL at him while making the Loser sign on our foreheads.

I never tire of seeing people fail in all kinds of weird and wonderful ways. Hell, they don’t even have to be weird or wonderful, with the normal, everyday stuff being hilarious when someone is failing to do it correctly.

All this guy had to do was lift his front wheel just a little bit and he may have landed successfully. Or, I don’t know, made a landing ramp out of something a little firmer than dirt. Yeah, that might have done it.

Instead he just drops in face-first. Literally. If you’ve ever wanted to know what soil tasted like then this is the guy to ask. Because he will have got a mouthful and a load in his nose all at the same time. Tasty.

Whenever I watch a high-speed pursuit on TV, there always a part of me that’s cheering for the one’s trying to escape.

The less of an advantage that the person trying to get away has, the more fun to watch- which is why this one with a bike is so amazing.

I don’t even know why someone with a regular bike would want to go on the highway, but this video shows that you can pretty much evade the cops if you’ve got BMX skills and crazy traffic around you.

I’d love to see Lance Armstrong try something like this.

If you’re going to do something a little retarded then please make sure there’s no one else in the vicinity that could become a victim of your stunt. This video shows why.

We haven’t had a FAIL on WebTVHub for a while, but this one is worth watching because of the close call some innocent bystanders have with the stupid person doing the failing.

FAILs usually involve one or two idiots doing something which ends up causing injury to themselves. And that’s fine, let them. But when innocent bystanders get dragged in to the mix everything takes a bit of a nasty turn.

If this kid hadn’t seen the bike coming towards him and his mother and quickly jumped out of the way then it could have been a really bad mess. As it is, only the rider of the bike ended up writhing around on the floor in agony. So that’s OK then.

If you’ve got around $3000 to spare and never want to peddle a bike again, you could always go for the “jet-powered” upgrade as seen in this clip.

This home-made bike can go up to 70mph- though the creator warns us that it might not be very safe to do.

Of all the cool gadgets shown in BBC’s show Speed, this has to be one of the most useless ones I’ve seen. Even if I had enough money to attack a rocket-type device to my bike, I couldn’t bring myself to wearing that ridiculous suit and helmet.

As cool as the concept seems, it just isn’t practical. And don’t even get me started on the annoying plane engine sound.

That Travis Pastrana is a bit of a nut. He does things on two wheels that no one should attempt, yet somehow he always manages to escape the scrapes alive.

Here he is doing what he does best, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on a motorbike.

It blows my mind that anyone would attempt to jump from one perfectly safe building to the next. But that’s not challenging enough for Travis. Just to up the excitement factor, he throws a back flip in there. Well why not?

He gets through the stunt by the skin of his teeth. But something tells me that’s exactly how Travis likes it.

The Segway may be the big name in electric bicycles, but there’s a new kid threatening to steal its crown. The Yike Bike has all the style and smarts of The Segway, at least if you believe the promo video

This is the kind of polished clip which doesn’t tell us what happens when you hit potholes, gravels, or puddles. It also doesn’t mention the slow speeds, or the short distance the Yike Bike can travel.

But if you can get past those limitations to go green, the Yike Bike looks like a lot of fun. And unlike the Segway, you can fold it up and pop it in a bag! Now I just have to head to New Zealand to get mine!

This is the reason I choose to play extreme sports purely from the comfort of my own home, playing video games to give me the entertainment with none of the danger. OK, so maybe the adrenaline rush doesn’t compare but you have to weight up the thrills with the spills.

This video shows former BMX rider Stephen Murray talking about the crash which ended his career and almost ended his life. It doesn’t show the accident in full but that’s probably a good thing considering the outcome of it.

Murray was a well-known BMX rider originally from Newcastle in England who won national championships before having a terrible accident at the Dew Action Sports Tour BMX Dirt Finals in Baltimore, Maryland in July, 2007.

He injured his neck, spinal column, and vertebrae in his back and is now a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck downwards. But as can be heard and seen in this video, he has remained strong and positive.

Something tells me BMX-er Shaun Hadlington won’t be riding bikes with aluminum frames for a while.

In this clip from the 2009 NASS 2009 festival, he goes up in the air on one bike and lands with two unicycles.

It’s something that you never would expect from a professionally made BMX bike, but does happen rarely. I’d hate to be the guy’s sponsor since he might even be able to legally end his contract with them seeing as how he was injured with their bike.

On the bright side, no one died, he technically did do a 360 (just not land it), and he now has a viral video to promote him even more. He’ll just have to make sure his next sponsor doesn’t have shitty bike frames.

Bernard Hinault gives his analysis (with English translation) of the critical Stage 7 of the Tour de France and who he thinks has a winning edge.

I think I am officially qualified as ‘not paying attention to the world’ now that the Tour de France has started and I didn’t even know it.

I may not be an avid cycling fan, but I do think the Tour de France is an amazing display of human fitness and endurance. I couldn’t make it through one of the sub-sections, let alone an entire stage of the race.

The entire thing is truly an amazing sight.

Regular park cyclists are minding their own business when all of a sudden 30 or so other racing cyclists pull up behind them. Some of the people getting pranked speed up to beat the racing cyclists, while some just keep on regularly peddling and move to the side.

Either way, the “racing bikes” behind never manage to catch up and the normal cyclist wins the race every time- a race they never knew they were in!

Now these are the types of pranks I enjoy watching; ones where no one gets hurt. At first I was worried for some of the regular cyclists because I thought the racing ones would trample them for sure. However, all of them just kept steadily behind while the person getting pranked crossed the finish line.

What makes this prank even more enjoyable is the sheer amount of detail put into it. Not only does the “winner” receive a towel and an interview, but a trophy as well! If I was a bystander I would have easily been duped into thinking a real race was going on.

Most of us can ride a bike well enough to take us from point A to point B, but it’s what we do along the way that really makes the difference.

Me? I just concentrate on the basics. But for Danny MacAskill, that approach is a little pedestrian.

Danny prefers to push the limits of what is possible with his trials bike. It doesn’t always work, and the video shows us that too. But when it does? Wow.

This video was shot over a few months in Edinburgh. The city provides the perfect backdrop, with everyday objects like trees and staircases becoming obstacles for the rider to conquer. And conquer them he does!

Wow, just wow. This video blows me away every time I watch it. It’s a guy playing Guitar Hero on his bike using a specially prepared course, and it is pure awesomeness.

As a fan of the Guitar Hero games, I know how hard it is to get the timing right just playing normally, but this guy has done so using his bike. I can’t even begin to imagine how much work went in to this.

First, they’d have had to write down the notes in order, then transfer them to the pavement and grass in the local area to form a course. That’s hard enough.

But then they’d have had to ride the course getting the timing spot on, and making sure they don’t get hit by cars and stuff. It’s an amazing display of patience and ingenuity.

It’s also a display of people with too much time on their hands, but I for one am glad they made the effort because this is my new favorite YouTube video.

The Neistat Brothers have lost countless bikes to thieves in New York City, so they started thinking to themselves: Exactly how easy is is to steal a bike in broad daylight?

Here they show at least 4 different methods of how to steal a bike during rush hour. You’d be surprised at how easy it is even in front of hundreds of people!

As the narrator honestly puts it, “Nobody gives a shit!” Which is true in every attempt to steal their own bike in this 5 minute long video. Using everything obvious from bolt cutters, to a hacksaw, to an angle grinder, and my personal favorite, a hammer and spike.

The one that really made my jaw drop was the theft at the World Trade Center. The police drive past without even paying attention. For God’s sake, a random person even offered help!

Intent on setting a new height record in BMX quarter pipe, Kevin Robinson must put his balls to wall and get up to 45 miles per hour to clear a total of 27 feet above the quarter pipe wall. And, not only does he do it in a matter of seconds, but he doesn’t even blink an eye.

There’s plenty of compilation videos on YouTube, but not many of them make me laugh. Thankfully this one does, as it shows a variety of mishaps.

0:26 - we get to see a guy crashing his truck while trying to show off. There’s nothing sweeter than seeing an arrogant asshole get his comeuppance.

1:12 - This guy is hilarious. Having bought lobsters for dinner he then attempts to put them in to the pan of boiling water, only for it all to go slightly wrong.

1:50 - This is the coolest bloke in the world ever. While getting interviewed, a car crashes inches from him. He doesn’t flinch at all, or even put his cigarette out.

Until I saw this video, I thought moving vehicles would be the biggest obstacles for skaters. Not for Olivier, who has a rather nasty run in with a parked car.

This video is mind blowing, partly because it shows a forest course being ridden from the first person perspective, and partly because this is something all of us could do if we wanted.

Normally when I watch extreme sports videos, although I’m intrigued, and love watching it, I also know I couldn’t take part in that sport, be it off piste skiing, or bungee jumping.

This is different though, as I can ride, I own a mountain bike, and this looks like something I actively want to have a go at.

Cameras mounted on heads are always brilliant, and this is one of the best biking ones I’ve seen. Having Linkin Park playing in the background also helps add to the atmosphere.

Racing on mountain bikes requires a delicate balance of leg strength and stamina. At this particular race, one cyclist was feeling a little tired.

So he just let his bike race for him.

Road blocks are annoying, but this is something else entirely. A group of at least 40 cyclists take over a roundabout and halt traffic for a full minute.

It’s not everyday that you see something as annoying or hilarious as this.
