Created by Patrick McGoohan The Prisoner was a spy fiction television series with elements of science fiction and psychological drama that gained a cult following when it debuted in 1967.

Starring Patrick McGoohan The Prisoner told a story of a former British spy who decided to quit his job and all of a sudden found himself held hostage in a mysterious village that was cut off from the mainland and surrounded by mountains.

Hundreds of people live in this mysterious village and they do not have names, only numbers that are given to them according to where they belong in the Village’s hierarchy.

The titular character goes by the name Number Six and is questioned by the Village’s authority to give information on why he has resigned his job. Number Six also plots an escape but is thwarted by the Village’s authority and their security system.

The Prisoner had it’s cult status confirmed on a number of occasions – it came as number 7 on the TVGuide’s list of top 25 cult shows ever and it came at number 10 on the Uncut magazine list of films, books and TV shows that changed the world.

Jointly produced by ACM and ITV the remake of The Prisoner will premiere on ACM network in the United States on November 15th 2009 – it stars James Caviezel as Number Six and Ian McKellen as Number Two.

ITV is giving away 24 tickets for UK screening of The Prisoner that will be held on November 17th 2009 at the Oden West End in London.

First two episodes will be shown on the big screen just 48 hours after the American premiere and a number of people involved with the production of the series will be present for the screening. The competition is open to UK residents and you can learn more about it at ITV’s The Prisoner website.

Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks, who are both “big fans” of Gossip Girl, decided to make an appearance on the show last night. If you missed it you can catch the full episode here.

I’m not the biggest fan of Gossip Girl (or even Hilary or Tyra for that matter), but I can easily see why they would make an appearance in the show for ratings. For those that don’t know, Duff plays a “famous movie actress..hoping for a normal college experience;” not exactly a challenging role for the former Disney star.

Similarly, Tyra plays Olivia’s co-star and can be seen in the movie premiere scene in the episode. While this episode will be Tyra’s only appearance in the season, it has been confirmed that Duff will go on to be a side character for a few more.

And as if that wasn’t enough star-power for the show, Lady Gaga is also planned to perform in the season finale.

I was, and still am, a huge fan of Friends, one of the best sitcoms ever made, and probably the funniest American television show there has ever been.

This classic video clip on YouTube shows one of the many Thanksgiving episodes. This is probably my favorite of all time, showing, as it does, Joey getting a turkey stuck on his head. He was only trying to scare Chandler!

From just seeing Joey with a turkey on his head, to seeing Monica realize there’s someone stuck up her turkey, this is hilarious. The best bit has to be when Joey uses the turkey to think with.

Friends may be old hat now but I still watch episodes on the TV and still laugh at every joke. The mark of a good comedy is how well it ages, and Friends is aging brilliantly so far.

Yesterday was certainly a great day for Obama voters. Not only did Obama’s half-hour infomercial American Stories, American Solutions air, but he also made a guest appearance on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show.

While his Disney joke wasn’t on par (Michelle said it better on Jay Leno), the majority of the interview went smoothly. Near the end, you can tell that he was instructed to do a wrap-up and, as a result, hashed out his same ol’ “health care” “economy” and “change” keywords. Though, it’s clear now that Obama’s presence alone results in applause.

Way before he starred in multi-million dollar comedies like Zoolander, Ben Stiller was just you’re average up-and-comic who hosted a little known show called, well, “The Ben Stiller Show.”

The show starred Janeane Garafalo, Andy Dick, and Bob Odenkirk and was often praised for it’s SNL-like parodies. Unfortunately it was canceled after only one season. But now, every episode is available for free viewing online.

Outdated Humor?

As a 90’s kid, I remember this show being aired on FOX and laughing quite a lot. After re-watching a few of the episodes, I found myself only mildly amused. If you can’t remember the 90’s then I suggest you not watch this show. Here are a few of the pop culture parodies:

If you’re an American, chances are you love watching ‘Family Guy’. Due to it’s large fan base, the show is the only one of it’s kind to be canceled and resurrected twice. Unfortunately, the “powers that be” make it as hard as possible to find ‘Family Guy’ full episodes on the internet.

Sure you could watch the “enormous” amount of episodes Hulu has to offer (3), or you could try this not-so-official site that has every episode of ‘Family Guy’ ever released.

Unlike most “unofficial” video sharing sites, Just Family Guy has a clean design that is relatively ad-free. Episodes are organized into seasons and given a brief description as well as a screenshot. This is especially helpful for casual viewers that want to find episodes they haven’t yet seen.

As for the loading times, I’ve found out that the newer episodes load faster than others. This is because most of the episodes are hosted on the free video host Tudou.

For a show that aired on ABC Family, Whose Line really used to push their ‘PG’ rated limit. Usually, this was through sexual innuendos, however, this time it for making fun of Hitler.

As absurd as it sounds, the director, for whatever reason, had a personal problem with making fun of Hitler. The cast, on the other hand, had no problem making fun of Hitler or the director.

Don’t even try to pretend that you haven’t heard of Seinfeld. After all, it was the biggest sitcom of the 90’s and lasted nine long seasons. When it officially ended in 1998, it was the highest ranking show in the country, with a average viewership of 21,266,000.

Now for the first time ever (legally) TBS is streaming Seinfeld full episodes online.

After the success of “High School Reunion” TVLand is at it again with it’s new ‘reality’ show about adults turning The Big 4-0. This half-hour show documents real 39 year-old adults 40 days in preparation before their big celebration.

So does the show accurately reflect the excitement of turning 40, or does it simply show-off like MTV’s Sweet Sixteen?

Just yesterday, ‘The Paper’ premiered on the MTV network. The new reality show focuses on “the most important job in the world”- being a journalist.

DemocraticMedia is a YouTube channel that is entirely dedicated to political documentaries. In all, the channel has over 360 videos that include countless full length documentaries from Michael Moore’s ‘Sicko’ to CNBC’s ‘The Age of Walmart.’

You don’t have to be a democrat to enjoy these movies.

MTV knows that most people on the go only have minutes of free time to enjoy a show, which is why they’ve been expanding their content to include shorter and more easily accessible web series. The latest of which is titled ‘North Palm Wrestling.’

And it does a pretty good job of cramming half an hour worth of funny into 5 minutes.

Earlier this year, when Jackass 2.5 was premiered for free on the web, Viacom also stated that the JackassWorld site would soon include ‘Jackass’ full episodes.

Now, Viacom has finally fulfilled their promise and have made every ‘Jackass’ episode available for free viewing, as well as every season of the spin-off show ‘Wildboyz.’

Dove knows how hard life is for women in their 20’s, and apparently MTV does too. The two companies have teamed up to create a new micro series that premieres every Monday in conjunction with MTV’s highest rated show ‘The Hills.’

Oh, and did I mention it stars Alicia Keys?

Apparently, the the higher ups that run the BET television network can’t take a joke. When a promo clip of the show that involved a fictional hunger strike was released, CEO Debra Lee and president Reggie Hudlin threatened to sue the producers for defamation.
