It’s that time of year again: the time when non-believers make videos tearing down Christmas and its Christian roots. Ordinarily I don’t buy into that sort of thing, but this one is interesting enough to appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike.
The key is not to see this as an attempt to tear down Christian traditions. Instead look at it as a bit of a history lesson explaining why we do what we do to celebrate the season.
From Yule logs to Jesus himself, there are a lot of similarities between pagan practices and Christmas rituals. Ironically this video gets a bit preachy towards the end, but this is a fascinating look at the holiday season.
