Every family has their Christmas traditions. For me it’s watching The Small One. This beautiful Disney cartoon tells the story of the donkey which took the pregnant Mary to Bethlehem.
You certainly don’t have to be religious to appreciate this simple story, which is about more than the sweet donkey’s higher purpose. It’s a tender tale of one boy’s love for his pet, and how hard it is to say goodbye.
Ahh yes, the goodbye part. Make sure you have some tissues handy for that. After seeing it for so many years, I still have a little cry!
