Classic Streets Of Rage Genesis Commercial (Video) | When Bullying Was Acceptable

26 sec read

I’m a huge gamer and have owned a games machine of some kind or other since the Atari 800XL in 1983… I was six years old at the time.

One of my favourite games of the Sega Genesis (Megadrive) era was Streets Of Rage, and this is a video advert for the game from a time when bullying was clearly cool, or at least acceptable.

This advert wouldn’t be allowed now, or even if it did make it to air, there would be numerous complaints over the portrayal of bullying and violence. Which is a shame.

It’s shocking how much society has changed over the past decade or so. Political correctness means anything with slightly questionable meaning gets binned. So make the most of this advert.
