Gillette recently debuted a new commercial that’s currently causing controversy all over the internet.
Gillette’s slogan has always been “The Best a Man Can Get,” and this ad attempts to turn that on its head by changing it to “The Best Men Can Be”.
The problem, according to the people complaining, is that this unfairly targets men, and makes out they’re all monsters.
I don’t think that’s true. It actually calls out toxic masculinity. Which, if you believe it’s a thing, should be called out.
However, I can’t imagine an ad showcasing all the bad behaviors of women. The same people applauding this ad would abhor such an ad.
