Homemade jetpacks have existed for years, but they usually don’t have as much control or look as sleek as this commercial one.
Here’s a video demonstration of ‘The Martin’ jetpack which is available for the cool price of $75,000.
I’ve been waiting for something this professional to emerge since I was a kid watching tv shows like ‘The Jetsons.’ Unfortunately, it isn’t as compact or as cheap as I’d like it to be, but it’s finally a step in the right direction.
The Martin can run for 30 minutes before running out of gas and is said to be very very loud (hence the soothing overlapping music). I’m willing to bet that the military will be the first customers for this type of technology.
I just can’t see any of these on the road anytime soon.
