Did someone order a new Cinderella movie? No? I didn’t think so. Still, Disney has delivered one, which suggests they know there is a potential audience out there for this live-action version of the classic animated feature.
The new Cinderella movie stars Lily James from Downton Abbey (as the titular princess) and Richard Madden, best known for playing Robb Stark in Game Of Thrones (as Prince Charming). Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham-Carter also appear in supporting roles.
This new Disney movie, simply titled Cinderella, is set to be released on March 13, 2015. It may well turn out to be a brilliant film, but that won’t stop it all feeling a little unnecessary.
