David Letterman Vs. Sarah Palin Video | Keith Olbermann Discusses The Poor Taste Jokes

46 sec read

David Letterman got himself in a little bit of trouble this week by making a few jokes at the expense of Sarah Palin and her daughter, Bristol Palin. The story has rumbled on all week until finally now coming to a head.

Letterman made three jokes earlier in the week which the Palin family has apparently taken at. Two concerned Bristol Palin having sex or getting pregnant while in New York, and one referred to Sarah Palin’s dress sense as “the slutty air hostess look.”

Personally, I cannot see anything wrong with any of the jokes. Sarah Palin does dress in a provocative manner while preaching conservative family values. Letterman wasn’t calling her a slut but merely referring to her style.

As for the daughter thing, the Palins have twisted that to try and make Letterman look like some kind of pervert. He was referring to Bristol Palin, who is now 18 and of legal age. She did get pregnant so the jokes stand up to scrutiny. Whereas they wouldn’t if, as the Palins have implied, Letterman had meant the 14-year-old daughter instead.

Talk about trying to gain political points from good comedy. Thankfully, most of us are too intelligent to fall for such a lame stunt. I just wish Letterman hadn’t apologized because he really didn’t need to.
