It looks like to me that DISH Network is the way to go. They have way more HD stations and a lot more international station. As a DISH employee I just want to give everyone out their a little more insight. Both DIRECTV and DISH have pretty good new customer promotions but theirs one thing about DIRECTV they don’t tell you. First off you have to agree to get marketing emails and if you don’t have internet at the time you out of luck because to get order online or submit online rebate application. Also DIRECTV makes you wait 6-8 weeks from start up to get the promotions. Who is will is willing to pay full price for that long?

Direct TV does not have High Definition TV signal for local networks in my area. A big disappointment when my family wanted to watch the Masters Tournment this year not to mention other sports events not available to us in HD.

We currently have Dish Network and the reception is horrendous. Every time we turn around, at least one of the satellites goes out. When we call to complain, we are treated as complete idiots and are told that the problem is ours, not theirs. My husband is an electronics technician and IT administrator. He KNOWS electronics like Bill Gates knows Microsoft. The problem is ALWAYS with the satellite because any possible problem is repaired straight away by my husband. We have been subscribers to Dish for nine years and pay our bill by the year. Their service has gone steadily dowh-hill for the past three years. We will probably NOT resubscribe when the year is up!
