In July 2018, Disney fired James Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 over tweets he had written several years previously.
These tweets had resurfaced thanks to right-wing commentators keen to hurt Gunn and his reputation after the director criticized Donald Trump.
Now, Disney has rehired Gunn, and he is once again attached to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Disney messed up by firing James Gunn. And the company has done the right thing by rehiring him, and essentially admitting it was wrong to fire him in the first place.
I just hope other people, on both sides of the political divide, are afforded the same treatment in the years to come. Because we cannot let mob justice win.
