Dominic Cummings, the Chief Special Advisor to Boris Johnson and the British government, has given a statement regarding his alleged breaking of UK lockdown rules.
Cummings admits to travelling 260 miles from London to Durham while everyone was being told to “Stay home, save lives, and protect the NHS”.
The issue is whether Cummings’ visit to the north-east of England was justified or not. Or whether it represented a breaking of the rules.
Either way, the problem for Cummings (and Boris Johnson) is that Cummings helped write the rules regarding lockdown, so if he did break them it’s hypocrisy of the highest order.
