This is a special trailer for The Devil Inside, which opened strongly in the U.S. this weekend. It shows some of the audience reactions as they watched the film for the first time.
The critics hate The Devil Inside, with one even describing it as the worst movie of the year (even though we’re only a week in to it). But moviegoers are paying their money to see this film regardless.
It’s obvious why. The Devil Inside is the latest movie to adopt the ‘Scare the audience shitless’ tactic, following on from the likes of Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity. The critics hated those movies too.
The fact is people like being scared, as long as they know it’s all fictional and they’re not actually going to come to any real harm. The Devil Inside plays on that love of frights.
