This is the HD movie trailer for the 2011 remake of Footloose. No, you didn’t misread that line, they’ve only gone and remade the Kevin Bacon classic!!!
The problem with remaking any classic film which has attained cult status is that you’ll never please the fans of the original. Ever. They’ll either thinks it’s just OK or downright hate it.
Many people who grew up with the original Footloose are already voicing their disdain for this remake, even without having seen it.
The story is exactly the same, as are the characters, and even many of the shots. It’s just the setting that has been updated so that the new version of Footloose will appeal to a new, younger generation. Perhaps.
