Four Loko is being banned in various states faster than you can drink a beer. The media, as usual, is having a field day with the news calling it “liquid cocaine” or “blackout in a can.”
Sure, the drink equals as much as 2 beers and 2 cups of coffee, but last time I checked there are still tons of people that mix Redbull and vodka.
After a handful of students in Michigan state were sent to the hospital for binge drinking, the authorities blamed the incident on Four Loko cans that were present at the party; It should be noted that there were other alcoholic beverages but those didn’t gain as much press.
If anything, this banning makes the drink “cooler” than it already was. I’m not a drinker by any means, but as a college student I know many peers that are stocking up due to this ban. Four Loko’s are quickly becoming sold out in Georgia- I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the initial intention.
