The FBI is claiming that Full Tilt Poker was never anything other than a Ponzi Scheme. A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent operation in which only those responsible for setting it up ever profit from.
The claim is that Full Tilt Poker could never guarantee to pay out winnings to those who gambled on the site successfully. Furthermore, the guys at the top siphoned off millions of dollars for themselves.
Luckily I’m not stupid enough to play poker online. I’m loath to even have a small wager on the outcome of a game of Facebook Scrabble. But some people are deeply out of pocket on this one.
