Lilly Tomlin is certainly a versatile actress. I’ve seen her on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as well ‘The West Wing,’ but never in my wildest dreams could I have predicted her dirty little secret.
Forget drugs and alcohol. As it turns out, Lilly used to be deathly addicted to Pac-Man! “It’s ok, I can talk about it now,” she says somberly in this PSA.
When I first came across the clip, I dismissed it as a comedy sketch. Further research, however, would prove me wrong. As shocking as it may seem, some people in the ’80s used to be addicted to Pac-Man much like the World of Warcraft. Apparently the craze was so big that it coined the phrase “Pac-Man Fever.”
With the rise of new technology, we also have a rise of technological addictions. It’s important to remember that treatment centers exist for those with porn, TV, gaming, and internet addicts who waste away their lives simulating experiences.
And just think, it all started with “a digital watch.”
