This week has certainly been a bad one for TRL and MADtv fans. Both shows were canceled and will no longer be with us in 2009 (though the former still has a few months left on air). In order to commemorate the passing of both shows, I’ve dug up this classic clip of MADtv poking fun at TRL.
Hardcore fans feel free to laugh…or cry.
The first thing you’ll notice about this clip is that it includes almost every Total Request Live stereotype: screaming pre-teens in the audience, horrible Ebonics, and guest appearances by every horrible rapper imaginable. In a way, it’s sort of a mini-documentary.
If you ask me, it’s only a matter of time before Saturday Night Live suffers the same fate. Even Tina Fey is sick of saving that show.
