On the 22nd of June I spent the better part of the day just watching Mr Carlin's work and paying attention to his words and his wisdom. It's just astounding that less than 4 days later, Mr Jackson passed away.

My childhood was pretty much spent glued to watching Mary Poppins and MJ on VHS and listening to him on cassette; whenever I wasn't outdoors that is. I still listen to MJ every week but the profundity of his passing became very apparent when I listened again after his death. It's as if I've lost a childhood playmate and a life long friend and that really hurt man. I really don't simply grief or mourn for every person of note who passes away. These two remarkable geniuses and masters of their craft are above being mere celebrities, they are visionaries, intellects and icons.

I also remember how absolutely untouchably cool Mr Carlin was in Bill and Ted. Haha!
