God Of Love was the surprise winner in the Best Live Action Short category at the 83rd annual Academy Awards. This is the trailer video for that film, created by a young NYU student by the name of Luke Matheny.

The 2011 Oscars took place last night (Feb. 27, 2011). Everyone who was expected to win did so, with The King’s Speech taking home most of th statuettes alongside Inception and The Social Network.

That meant the interesting results happened in the smaller categories. Which includes the Best Live Action Short, this year won by Luke Metheny for God Of Love.

God Of Love is a comedy about a lounge-singing darts champion whose life is changed when he receives a package of passion-inducing darts. It’s an intriguing concept and a well-made short film.

Metheny looked completely shell-shocked to have won, and gave a memorable speech. And who can forget that hair!
