If you’re this guy then you build a moat around your house. A moat out of anything and everything.
This video shows a very impressive moat and flood defenses built around a house in Arkansas. As the boat rides along to the house you can see what happened to the neighbors who didn’t plan ahead.
I’m not sure I’d have the wherewithal or energy to do something similar to this. The fact is nature is impossible to control and almost impossible to combat. This guy managed it, but it clearly took a monumental effort.
