This video purports to show Jimmy Kimmel pranking Coachella festival-goers by catching them out with fake bands. But to me it’s clearly fake and staged.
I usually like Jimmy Kimmel’s attempts at trolling random idiots, but I’m calling this one out as being fake. American TV audiences may be fooled, but my bullshit meter is always switched on.
Either these people were told to just smile and nod at everything that was said, or they were asked different questions and had the alternative audio added afterwards.
Whichever it is, the whole thing comes across as staged. And it ends up actually making Kimmel and his audience look like the idiots, rather than the hipster douches going to Coachella.
