Gore flunked out of graduate school at Vanderbilt Divinity School, and dropped out of law school. Bush has a graduate degree from Harvard.

well, i really don’t think that the graduation ranking is a indicator for doing a good job as president. take the british prime minister brown who is said to be very well educated … i don’t think he’s doing his job better than former prime minister blair. our former foreign minister fischer (i am from germany) has not graduated but people were quite satisfied with his work (he ranked always on top of surveys about politicians). i think politicians should be ranked by their deeds not by their education.

Sure, president Lincoln never graduated from public school, yet there’s no doubt that he was one of the greatest U.S. presidents.

Um, Lincoln trashed civil liberties and the Constitution much worse than W. Bush has.

He tried to protect the union; he didn’t give a crap about equal rights for slaves. C’mon.

The point is, no matter that it takes both street and book smarts to be a good president, the fact is, McCain has an equivalent “D” in one out of the two desired qualities. Even worse, he’s computer illiterate! Do we really want a person who doesn’t know how to use an invention that’s been around for almost 50 years – an invention that’s as common as the computer- to run our country?

I wouldn’t say it was a combination of “street” and “book” smarts for Lincoln. He learned a lot and read a lot on his own, so he was very self-taught. Don’t know if there’s really such a thing as “street” smarts anyway – it’s all one in the same.
