Reports suggest that the next James Bond film, currently codenamed Bond 25, has a new 007. And the casting is controversial to say the least.
According to these reports, the new 007 is going to be played by Lashana Lynch, the black actress best known for her supporting role in Captain Marvel.
Before you get all bent out of shape, Lynch isn’t replacing Daniel Craig as Bond. Bond has left MI6, and Lynch is (reportedly) the new spy with the 007 codename.
Honestly, I cannot see what the fuss is about. If Lynch was the new Bond then I’d understand, but she’s just the new 007, and (shock horror) MI6 employs black women.
