So saying that they made it just to cash in on the new movie is a little silly. :P The remastered versions are actually quite good- much better than watching the old scratchy VHS, and I do enjoy the new effects. As for the lens flares, they don't bother me at all, nor does the shaky-cam. To each his own, I suppose.
