If you’ve never played any of the Metal Gear Solid games, or even heard of them, then this video probably won’t mean much to you. For the rest of, including addicts of the series such as myself, this video is a gem.
It basically shows how the first Metal Gear Solid game, which was released on the original Playstation in 1998, would look and sound if it was retold as a children’s fairytale, complete with heroes, villains, and a happy ever after ending.
Amazingly, it works. Rather well. Which must please Hideo Kojima, the man who, as the creator of the game, spends a little too much of his life inhabiting the Metal Gear universe and imagining more bizarre plot twists for the characters to endure.
This has actually made me want to go back and play the original Metal Gear Solid game, even though I completed it about ten years ago when it was first released. The graphics might now hurt my eyes but the gameplay will still be as good as ever.
