Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. But despite there being a public memorial soon after, he’s only just been buried. His family and friends held a fairly private funeral for Jacko at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Sept. 3, 2009.
This video shows pretty much all the footage there is of the Michael Jackson funeral, with star guests arriving, joining the many members of the Jacko clan already there and waiting to bury Michael.
Celebrities in attendance are reported to have included Macauley Culkin, Mila Kunis, Elizabeth Taylor, Chris Tucker, Al Sharpton, Corey Feldman, and Lisa Marie Presley. There were only 200 guests in all so these really are the people thought to have been closest to Michael in life.
There is some controversy that the Jackson family didn’t let the funeral become public affair, switching off the live video feeds before Michael Jackson was actually buried. But that’s their right. The fans had a public memorial, so the family can bury him however they choose.
