I’ve personally never seen the appeal of monster trucks. Great, a car with really big wheels… ooh, impressive. Their ridiculousness and pointlessness has now turned into tragedy with two incidents in a month where people were killed at monster truck shows.
This video is a news report on the death of event organizer, George Eisenhart. Hours after giving an interview about safety at his shows, he nonchalantly walked into the path of a monster truck and was killed at the scene.
This incident comes just a week after a six-year-old boy was killed at a monster truck show. On that occasion, a chunk of metal flew into the crowd and hit the young boy in the face, tragically killing him.
I know nothing can be 100 percent guaranteed safe but monster truck shows are clearly not the place to be if you value your wellbeing. This man has secured his place in the Darwin Awards 2009 – don’t let anyone else join him.
