New ‘Copyright Alert System’ (Video) | RIAA Backed Program Soon To Affect You?

31 sec read

Well, they finally passed it- not legally through the government, but through companies. The RIAA tried making their damn six-strike anti-piracy program aka The Copyright Alert System last year, and now they have succeeded in working with the following providers:

AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast, Time Warner, and Verizon. On this list? So am I.

I don’t know how this is going to affect the way I watch my TV shows and movies (yes I pay for most of my content, but occasionally it’s simply easier to search a site like 1Channel.ch), but I don’t want to be punished for trying to get information. Somehow I feel like this violates some sort of law, but only time will tell if a class-action lawsuit will surface.

One things for certain: These companies are going to have a lot of angry customers if this system is annoying as it seems.
