I’m sure we’re all more than aware of the act of RickRolling, when you get directed to a new video only to be redirected to the music video for Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Well here’s a twist on the concept.
What this music video does is mix Never Gonna Give You Up with Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. We get the music from Nirvana mixed with the vocals of Rick Astley. And quite unbelievably, it works really well.
The people who create these music mashup videos are geniuses, at least if they do it right. And this mashup, from DJ Morgoth, is a prime example of when it goes right. Love or hate the originals, the two combined sound awesome.
The RickRoll may now be old hat but pointing people towards this video could be the next big thing. Thankfully, I doubt too many people will get annoyed when they see it because it’s utterly brilliant.
