This is the movie trailer for Prometheus, a new movie from director Ridley Scott. It marks his return to science fiction, a genre he hasn’t visited since Blade Runner in 1982.
It hasn’t yet been confirmed or denied whether Prometheus is a prequel to the Alien series, which Scott himself crated with the 1979 original. But I heavily suspect it is.
The trailer has been cleverly concocted to leave room for speculation about its Alien roots. It might be, but it might not be. But there are certain references and pointers which suggest it is.
Prometheus is currently in post-production, with a release planned for Jun 8. I’m definitely planning on seeing it.
