TIME Magazine has awarded the Person of the Year 2017 to “The Silence Breakers”, a collection of mostly women who have publicly accused individuals of sexual harassment.
This is rather ironic given that Donald Trump claimed he was in the running to be TIME Person of the Year 2017. Because let’s not forget he’s been accused of sexual harassment.
I’m not entirely sure it makes sense to award the Person of the Year 2017 to a group rather than an individual, but TIME obviously thinks it knows best.
My one concern is that many of this cases have literally been allegations, with nothing proven in court. Which increases the chances of innocent people having their reputations tarnished.
