Ron Paul’s son was detained and missed his flight due to refusing to be pat-down by the TSA.
Coincidentally, here’s a video of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee Hearing last year where he expresses his disdain for the pat-downs.
I’ve never been subjected to an inappropriate pat-down before, but it certainly does happen. Sen. Rand Paul apparently set off an alarm on the airport’s full-body scanner near his knee area. After rolling up his pant leg showing that he didn’t have any “metal plates,” he refused to be touched.
No one wants to be treated like criminals. While I don’t agree with all of his political stances, I’m glad that a senator is willing to stand up and make this point.
