Remember, Remember The 5th Of November Video | V For Vendetta Loves Guy Fawkes

30 sec read

Remember, remember the fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. That is the opening line of one of the most famous rhymes in history – one that commemorates the attempt to blow up the House of Lords and King James I.

It all happened a long time ago, in 1605, but here we are over 400 years later still celebrating the failed attempt by Catholic freedom fighters/terrorists (depending on your point of view) to destroy parliament.

There will be millions of us in the U.K. and America heading out to see bonfires burning, fireworks exploding in midair, and the burning of substitutes of Guy Fawkes.

But this video isn’t quite focused on that, instead showing clips from the movie V For Vendetta. The main character in the film is a modern-day Guy Fawkes, except he succeeds where his predecessor failed.
