It’s easy to understand why. If you’re a tourist who wants to leave something behind, what better than a lock attached to a famous landmark?
The problem with love locks is they’re a waste of time and money for everyone concerned. And they can also damage the monuments they’re attached to.
This video shows a couple of well-meaning people removing love locks from the Charles Bridge in Prague. But the only way to solve the problem longterm is to discourage people from hanging love locks in the first place!
